SAWS Festival 2022 Overview: “Better Together!”

Since 1982, we have held our Fall Festival over a weekend in early October. The festival is a major highlight for our entire community, bringing together teachers, parents, students, and guest clinicians. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, we are back with in-person offerings for everyone! Previously, we met at Central Washington University. This year, we re-located to the Seattle area. Join us for high-quality offerings with wonderful faculty from around the state. Spaces are limited and this event will sell out, so please register soon to guarantee a spot!

Our 2022 offerings:

1. Teacher workshop and annual meeting: Friday, October 14, at Maple Leaf Lutheran Church in NE Seattle. details and registration here.

2. String Student Festival/Graduation Concert for Violin, Viola, and Cello: Saturday, October 15, from 9:00-3:00, concert at 4:00.  More detailed description and registration link here.

3. Chamber music workshop for advanced teens with Karen Iglitzin; pre-formed chamber music groups will have a day of classes culminating in a performance on the 4:00 concert along with the graduates. Details and registration here.

4. Piano Graduation Concert: Saturday, October 15th, at 3:30 p.m. at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma. This will be a hybrid recital and will include onstage and remote performers!  We hope this makes it possible for all of our graduates and their teachers to participate.  More details will be posted here.
